Leading conservative calls for more immigrant naturalisation

In this article it is suggested that a more successful integration can be achieved if Germany worked harder at naturalizing members of its large immigrant population. In this way a more inclusive environment could perhaps open up a discourse to better examine the problems that many immigrants (and children of immigrants) face in Germany today. By increasing the naturalization of Islamic immigrants perhaps the government will be able to quell anti-Islamic sentiments in Germany, which will greatly aid the integration process. Though gaining citizenship does not automatically free one from discrimination (as has been exemplified by the continued discrimination against Afro-Germans and Turkish-Germans), it is certainly a step in the right direction, though I believe it is a mistake to ask these candidates to renounce their prior citizenship as this can cause many problems concerning issues of property ownership, inheritance and land rights in the country of origin.
