Hartmut Mackowiak (Elmar Wepper), a taxi driver separated from his wife and stuck in his ways, is forced to reckon with the new and unpredictable when young Hayat (Mercan Türköglu), visiting her grandmother in Nuremberg, ends up in his taxi after her grandmother (Özay Fecht) has a stroke.
